top 10 • not-that-touristy and almost bird free places in venezia • italy
+2 touristy places totally worth visiting.
my dad used to live in venice and i visited him a lot on my days off. venice is like a walking museum and it’s not easy to avoid the tourist traps or pigeons. here’s a list of my favorite not that touristy places and almost bird free zones that i like:
1.caffe la serra my favorite café in venice and the small botanical garden serra dei giardini (right next to each other)
2. mezzopieno(wine bar)
3. osteria 6014
4. basegó (snack bar) and other bars and restaurants in via giuseppe garibaldi
5. experimental cocktail club
6. estate ai crociferi/combo very cool bar/restaurant/art/live music place
7. ristorante l’opera (tbh i haven’t eaten there, but as the sun seeker i am i love sitting there with the sun in my face and order a bellini or hugo)
8. wander around campo san trovaso and watch locals hang out drinking and eating right next to the canal
9. bring a bottle of wine and watch the sunset on a bench near sant’ elena (street: viale vittorio veneto or viale giardini pubblici) and eat at osteria da pampo in the same area
10. day trip to bassano del grappa 1.10 hours with train
+2:
vaparetto to burano. just love wandering around this colorful island
la zucca is very popular and known for a reason. amazing food and good vegetarian options
november and april are the best months to avoid the busiest crowds.
